2019 E-Race The Stigma 1 Mile Walk/5k Race:
Who is YAC and WHY do they care about mental health?
Geauga Youth Advisory Council is an organization in Geauga County that focuses on youth empowering youth throughout our community to create a healthy lifestyle for themselves and future generations through demonstration of leadership skills and prevention programs. This year we decided to focus on the issue of mental health and organized a 5K run/1 mile walk to erase the stigma that surrounds mental health.
Registration: Register by May 10 to guarantee an “E-Race The Stigma” t-shirt! Registrations after May 10th will not guarantee a t-shirt, but you will be registered to walk or run in our event! Click here to register!
Location: E-Race The Stigma event will be held at the Geauga County Fairgrounds in Burton. 14373 N Cheshire St, Burton, OH 44021 (Parking info will be provided closer to date of event).
- 9-10 Registration (Building under grandstand)
- 10:15-10:45 Speakers
- 11:00 Begin Race
- 11:05 Begin Walk
- 12:15 Race and Walk conclude

Community Businesses: Local community businesses will join us at our event to help us break the stigma of mental health. Each organization will have a tip, trick or fun activity to help reduce stress and anxiety! Donations:If you would like to help support E-racing the stigma of mental health of any of the other initiative of YAC or Geauga Youth Led Prevention, you may donate by sending a check to Geauga County Educational Service Center (YLP) in the amount you wish to donate.
Proceeds: The proceeds and donations from this event will go to Geauga Youth Led Prevention and Geauga Youth Advisory Council to continue to support their efforts in increase the awareness of mental health, decreasing the negative stigma of mental health, and helping other reach out for support.
